Position Title: Project Assistant - Hygiene Promotion
Unit: Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
Duty Station: Marib - Yemen
Type of Contract: Sub-Contract to Stars Orbit Consultants and Management Development / Daily Contract       
Duration of Appointment: Two (2) months, with possibility of extension subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds

Context/Reporting line:

Working under the overall supervision of the WASH Officer and the direct supervision of the Program Assistant (WASH), will support the community mobilization and hygiene promotion activities that IOM will implement to guarantee the sustainability of its Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) interventions. 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

1.    Support the team in community mobilizer and hygiene promotion activities as required.
2.    Support the team in better understanding the importance of community mobilizer and hygiene promotor’s activities.
3.    Support the team in ensuring adherence to IOM hygiene promotion technical guidelines and donor requirements in specific projects.
4.    Support in conducting hygiene promotion related assessments including PDM, KAP etc. in coordination with M&E department.
5.    Ensure effective and active communication with all the relevant stakeholders. Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Program Assistant indicating progress, constraints and requirements for completion in the various projects.
6.    Compile hygiene promotion data from Hygiene Promotors and share with relevant teams.
7.    Any other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • University Degree/Certificate or bachelor’s degree in a profession related to WASH.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 02 years’ experience in Hygiene Promotion and Community Response in humanitarian context (Bachelor’s Degree Holders). 

Languages:

  • Fluent in English and Arabic
