SOUL for Development is a national NGO, founded in February 1997 by a group of Yemeni professionals out of their desire to achieve a higher quality of life for Yemeni women and children. Since its inception, it has implemented over 80 development interventions in 18 out of Yemen's 22 governorates, benefiting over 5, 500,000 people. As a result, the organization has established itself among the most effective civil society organizations in Yemen that are working on health, education, and WASH issues in support of women, children, and youth. Operating out of its Headquarters in Sana’a and its offices in Taiz and Aden, SOUL, provides critical educational, health, and WASH services to urban and rural communities. 

Job Information

• Job Title:  Protection Officer.
• Location: Aden & Abyan.
• Contract Type: Full Time.
• Contract Duration: 8 Month.
• Start Date: 01 Dec 2025.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Guide, supervise & monitor case managers & social workers performance in the field. 
• Conduct assessments to identify individuals at risk and in need of protection assistance.
• Conduct regular protection monitoring activities to identify protection risks and needs within the target population.
• Coordinate with other program staff, partner organizations, and local authorities.
• Attend relevant meetings and workshops.
• Contribute to the development of protection risk assessments and analysis reports.
• Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders and members.
• Facilitate community participation in protection activities.
• Provide individual case management, including referrals, follow-up, and advocacy.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case files.
• Provide psychosocial support and referrals to specialized services.
• Monitor and report on violations of human rights and humanitarian law.
• Conduct awareness-raising sessions on protection principles, rights, and available services.
• Develop and disseminate protection-related information to related stakeholders.
• Prepare, review and submit regular reports, including case management reports, monitoring reports, and activity reports.
• Be responsible for collecting data & documents for protection indicators.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or any related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience working in protection activities and emergency humanitarian field.
• Previous experience working with NGOs/INGOs is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge and skills of computer. 
• Show diplomacy, good communication and has good interpersonal skills.
• able to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities able to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
• Possess multi-cultural flexibility and experience.
• Strong organizational skills and good ability to make proactive suggestions.
• Calm, listen rigorously, able to work under pressure and handle stressful situation.
