Its programs are supported by USAID, BHA, The Japan Platform, DANIDA, GFFO, BMZ, IHA Canada, UNOCHA, WFP ...etc. It has presence in different Governorates in Yemen responding to 6 areas of humanitarian sectors. ADRA Yemen is undertaking programs in Yemen in the fields of health, nutrition, WASH, food security, livelihoods, and protection.

SUMMARY:

The overall role of the Field Assistant is to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate different project activities in close coordination. He/she is also responsible for registration, training, and delivering inputs to beneficiaries, in addition to ensuring that project deliverables are timely and of good quality. The Field Assistant will perform in the field to promote community participation in different project activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The “Field Assistant” will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Assists in conducting verification and needs assessments through the collection of primary data.
  • Raising awareness is crucial so farmers can access information about climate change, effective adaptation methods, and community initiatives that support them."
  • Arrange a meeting with local residents and community leaders to select target villages. 
  • Arrange meetings with selected villages to elect community committees for community-led management.".
  • Arrange meetings with the elected community committees to hand over the beneficiary nomination lists in the selected villages."
  • Conduct a training workshop for community committees on filling out climate change-related forms, with community participation, and analyzing strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to select community-led solutions.
  • Conduct training courses for farmers in smart agriculture, livestock farming, and beekeeping."
  • Conduct a training course for farmers on how to apply for micro-project funding and establish Farmer training Field Schools.
  • Conduct training courses for farmers on value chains, marketing methods and techniques, selecting appropriate markets, and ways to establish rural savings funds. 
  • Liaise with local community representatives and stakeholders to promote the project mission and activities and overcome any obstacles or issues that may arise in the field.
  • Submit weekly activity reports to the Field Officer detailing achievements compared to the overall project plan. 
  • Write success stories of beneficiaries.   
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Direct Supervisor.
  • Establishing databases properly based on the needed information and preparing and sorting documents for data entry.
  • Helping in data into database software precisely ensure the accuracy of the information and prevent duplication.
  • Adhere to the organization’s safeguarding framework, including Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), child protection, anti-harassment, and ethical conduct policies, ensuring alignment with international standards (e.g., Core Humanitarian Standard, UN CRC).
  • Promptly report safeguarding concerns or violations through designated channels, maintain confidentiality, and participate in mandatory safeguarding training to uphold a safe, inclusive environment for all stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, Economics, or relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of One year of experience in Field Assistant Positions Preferably in  Humanitarian NGOs.
  • Teamwork and Management Skills
  • Very Good interview and observation skills.
  • Good Organization skills, attention to detail, and reporting in timely manner
  • Ability to work in remote and rugged areas.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
  • English and Arabic languages (writing and speaking) are required.
  • Have an experience with ADRA is preferable and add value
